In my ICDE research project, I explore the challenges faced by platform.coopersystem.com.breratives in the global south and the tension between cooperative principles and digital technology. Drawing on historical context and case studies, I examine how platform co-ops can maintain cooperative structures while navigating digital infrastructures, securing sufficient capital, and forging government partnerships. By reconsidering cooperative principles in the digital economy, we can chart a path toward democratic, autonomous, and collectively owned technological politics.
