Bio
Radhika Gajjala is Professor of Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University. She is author of Cyberculture and the Subaltern (Lexington Press, 2012) and Cyberselves: Feminist Ethnographies of South Asian Women (Altamira, 2004). She has also co-edited books, including Cyberfeminism 2.0 (2012), Webbing Cyberfeminist Practice (2008) and South Asian Technospaces (2008). She is presently working on projects examining microfinance and digital financialization as well as an examination of social media practices, marketing, philanthropy and neoliberal entrepreneurship with a focus on women’s work/labor and tacit practices/contributions in transitioning economic times. Thus she continues to work on examinations of the ITization and NGOization as key forces for the production of “the Global” workforce and organizations through socio-economic work and play environments. She is co-editor (with Carol Stabile) of “ADA: Journal of Gender, New Media and Technology.”
