Bio
Gigi Lo is one of the founders of Translate For Her. Since 2014, she has brought together the power of community with her Pakistani and Chinese friends, empowering female ethnic minorities by translating community and cultural information through WhatsApp. In this cross-cultural community, women learn languages and new cultural practices from each other, breaking down cultural and gender barriers. In the past, Gigi has worked as an English and Chinese teacher to minority women, and has taught sociology to students of many different ethnic backgrounds. Currently a second year PhD student in Sociology, Gigi has developed a new research interest in the civil rights of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong.
