Bio
For over 12 years, Deborah Collison has held several monitoring, evaluation, accountability, research, and learning (MEARL) roles with international development and humanitarian/emergency response NGOs, the UN, and academia at both field and global levels. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition and food science from the University of Ghana, an MSPH in Nutrition from Emory University, and a Ph.D. in Leadership and Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Throughout her education and professional experience, her focus has been in MEARL.
She has been providing MEARL technical assistance on large donor projects such as USAID, UN, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and private donors such as CDP in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Her professional interest is building gender-sensitive, innovative MEARL approaches and systems through system thinking processes and multisectoral approaches to provide evidence-based information. In doing this, Debbie aims to contribute to the development and modification of policies, interventions, advocacy, decision-making, and organizational change that will help improve the lives of vulnerable populations.
She likes to spend time with her family, read, watch soccer, and cycle during her leisure time.
