Adotey Bing-Pappoe, a Ghanaian economist, holds a senior lecturer position in economics at the University of Greenwich Business School. His academic focus encompasses workers cooperatives, income inequality, regional integration, and industrial policy. As the founding co-chair of Cooperation Africa, he advocates for cooperative development across the continent. Bing-Pappoe earned his first degree in politics and economics from the University of Zambia and completed his doctorate at Corvinus University (formerly Karl Marx University of Economic Sciences) in Hungary, exploring the agricultural sector’s role in economic development. With a rich professional background, including roles at the ministry of Rural Development and as Director of the Africa Centre in London, Bing-Pappoe’s expertise extends to consultancy for organizations such as UNFAO, the Open Society, and UNECA. Currently, he serves on the board of the AfriCoop Consortium and is an active member of the United Kingdom Society for Cooperative Studies, having previously held the position of Secretary at the UK-based Afrikan Cooperative Union.
