Amrik Heyer has been the Head of Research at FSD Kenya since 2010, leading major research initiatives in financial inclusion, particularly through projects like FinAccess and the Kenya Financial Diaries. Her expertise in financial inclusion was also honed during her time as an independent consultant (1999-2010), including her work with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Financial Services for the Poor Programme. In addition to her research roles, she served as a Temporary Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Bergen, Norway, and has held teaching positions at University College London. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from SOAS University of London.
