Bio
Juliana Rotich is a Kenyan information technology expert known for her innovative contributions to crisis mapping and tech entrepreneurship. She co-founded Ushahidi, an open-source platform for crowdsourcing crisis information, and iHub, a tech innovation space in Nairobi. Rotich has a background in computer science, holding a degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She has served on various advisory boards, including Safaricom’s fintech integration and Microsoft’s 4Afrika. As a TED Senior Fellow and MIT Media Lab Fellow, Rotich has been recognized globally for her work in technology and social entrepreneurship. Additionally, she has contributed to Afrigadget.com and Global Voices Online, where she has highlighted African innovation and environmental issues through her insightful blogging.
