Shadreck Matindike is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Nelson Mandela University in the Department of Development Studies within the School of Economics, Development, and Tourism. His research focuses on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) and its relationship to sustainable development. Dr. Matindike holds a BCom Honours in Economics, a BSc Special Honours in Monitoring and Evaluation, a Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education, an MCom in Economics, an MSc in Agricultural Informatics & Data Analytics, and a PhD in Development Studies.
An emerging multidisciplinary researcher, his interests include development finance, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship (including rural entrepreneurship), cooperatives, agriculture, informatics & data analytics, climate issues, gender issues, devolution, and public policy. Dr. Matindike has published numerous articles, taught various development policy modules, supervised graduate students, and participated in international conferences and seminars. His research skills are further enhanced by his experience as a Research Intern with UNDP’s Economics Department, lecturing at universities, and coordinating projects for the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET)’s Young Scholars Initiative Cooperatives Working Group.
