Timothy Bisakaya currently serves as the President and Head of Secretariat for the Africa Co-operative Consortium (AFRICOOP) in Nairobi, Kenya, and is the Executive Director of Co-optkam Company Limited. He is a Cooperative Specialist, Social Entrepreneur, Policy Analyst, Project Manager, Strategic Analyst, Business Analyst, Governance Champion, Community Change Agent, Pan Africanist, and Emerging Young African Leader. Timothy has worked as a Sub-Saharan Africa Research Consultant for the U.S. Overseas Cooperative Development Council and as the National Cooperatives and Credit Union Advisor for the Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF Canada) in Kenya.
He also coordinates the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) Cooperative Working Group at the Institute for New Economic Thinking in the United States. Timothy is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and a Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative at the YALI Regional Leadership Center, East Africa, in Nairobi.
