Bio

Ronaldo Lemos is the co-founder and Chief Science Officer of the Institute for Technology and Society (ITS). He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of São Paulo, a master’s degree in law from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in law from the University of São Paulo. He was a visiting scholar at the universities of Oxford (2005), Princeton (2011-2012), and MIT Media Lab (2013-2016). Professor at Columbia University in New York (at SIPA, School of International and Public Affairs) and Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Lemos was appointed by the World Economic Forum as one of the “Young Global Leaders.”  He is the president of the Technology Committee of OAB-SP. He has served as a board member of several organizations, such as Mozilla Foundation, Access Now, and Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, among others. He is a board member of the Stellar Foundation and a member of the Meta Supervisory Board. He was a member of the National Council for Combating Piracy and the vice president of the National Council on Social Communication of the Brazilian Congress, which is linked to the Federal Senate.
