Peter Njuguna is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) in Kenya, with over 20 years in the financial sector. Leading SASRA since April 2021, Peter oversees Kenya’s prudential regulations for SACCOs, focusing on sound supervision and governance. He previously headed SASRA’s Supervision team (2010–2021) and convened a government task force to draft regulations for non-deposit-taking SACCOs. An advocate for technology in financial cooperatives, Peter has championed the SACCO Shared Services Digital Platform, facilitating a Secondary SACCO with 73 members. Peter holds degrees in Mathematics, Development Finance, and Operations Research and is a Certified Public Accountant and Executive Leadership Coach.
