Richard is working as Deputy Country Director at the FES India Officeand as Project Director “Peace and Security in South Asia”. He has served, among other things, as Personal Assistant to Saxon Social Democratic Parliamentary Group Leader Martin Dulig, as Policy Advisor and Personal Aid to Petra Köpping, Saxon State Minister on Integration and Gender Equality and as Head of the Office of the Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Saxony in the State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport. He was himself, an elected member of the Dresden City Council from 2009 to 2014 and re-joined the Council in 2019. From 2016 until 2019, he presided over the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Dresden. Richard is working with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) since October 2021.
