Bio

Prof. Wycliffe Oboka is an Associate Professor of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance at the Department of Community Development and Environmental Management (DCEM) at The Co-operative University of Kenya. He holds a Ph.D. in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, along with master’s degrees in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, and Guidance and Counseling from Moi University. Prof. Oboka has held various leadership roles, including Director of the Institute of Co-operative Development and Dean of the School of Co-operatives and Community Development. He is actively involved in research and consulting on disaster risk management, with ongoing projects funded by organizations such as the Overseas Cooperative Development Corporation (OCDC) and the African Development Bank. He has also consulted for international agencies like the World Food Programme and the National Disaster Operation Center.
